If you feel like the face in your mirror looks a bit older than it should, getting a facelift in Long Island at Dr. Doshi’s plastic surgery practice is the perfect way to restore some of that lost confidence. Having performed over 4,000 surgeries, his facelifts are designed to reduce the presence of extra or sagging skin around the face and neck. Dr. Doshi works with his patients to customize each and every procedure, leaving them with subtle, naturalistic results that never present the tell-tale signs of facial plastic surgery.
How is the procedure performed?
A facelift is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation on an outpatient basis. During the surgery performed at Dr. Doshi's Long Island office, incisions are created behind the ears, extending into the hairline, where they are hardly noticed. An additional incision may be created beneath the chin. Once the skin is pulled upwards, the surgeon has access to the underlying facial SMAS muscles, which are pulled taut. The excess skin and fat are then trimmed, and the top facial layer is redraped in a more youthful manner. If the client is only just beginning to see the signs of aging in the bottom third of the face, a mini facelift may be preferable to the full version.
